City-wide Fall Clean Up Announced
DPW Commissioner Jay Fink has announced that the citywide Fall Cleanup campaign is about to commence.
A reminder to the community that the street sweeping campaign will commence November 2nd, in Ward One, following numerically through Ward Seven. There will be weekly announcements confirming the scheduled locations and the full process should take approximately five weeks.
Citizens should take advantage of cleaning up and join in the city’s effort to spruce up the neighborhoods. Automobiles must be moved from the street during the process as you may be subject to being ticketed and/or towed.
As always, the street sweeping schedule is always subject to change, due to inclement weather. A very important reminder: DO NOT sweep debris into large as the machines cannot pick them up and will be left behind.
The Commissioner also added that beginning the week of November 2nd and continuing for the entire month of November, there will be a great opportunity for residents to discard leaf and yard waste curbside and urges everyone to take advantage.
Our citizens have always been very supportive and are encouraged to compile their curbside yard waste (leaves, grass and debris) into the appropriate containers to be left out on their regular scheduled trash day. Leaves should not be pushed into the streets.
“It is great to see the community taking such pride in their homes and neighborhoods, and the efforts that they are making is really great for the entire city” stated the Commissioner.
CITY OF LYNN: SNOW INFORMATION
DURING A SNOW EMERGENCY: PLEASE REMOVE ALL VEHICLESFROM THE ROADS IN THE CITY OF LYNN

Snow Emergency Parking Regulations will be strictly enforced. All violators will be subject to fines up to $200 and /or towing.
The City of Lynn Ordinances require all property owners to remove snow and ice from their sidewalks to ensure Pedestrian Safety. Please Note:
If the snow ceases falling in the daytime (7 AM-6 PM) it is your responsibility to see that the snow accumulated on the sidewalk shall be removed within four hours.
If the snow ceases falling in the nighttime (after 6PM) it is your responsibility to see that the snow accumulated on the sidewalk shall be removed before 10:00 p.m. the following day.
Property Owners are responsible for making openings in snow banks between the streets and sidewalks at crosswalks, street corners and bus stops.
If your mailbox is erected at or near a gutter line, make sure it can withstand snow-clearing efforts. Also, the US Postal Service will not deliver mail if your walkway is not cleared.
If your home or business is on a corner, please shovel a wide opening and help pedestrians get onto the sidewalk safely! Ask yourself if the path you cleared is wide enough for someone using a stroller or wheelchair to get through.
Please make sure that ice is also cleared or melted from the sidewalk.
If you fail to comply with the city’s sidewalk clearance ordinances or if you throw or dump snow from your sidewalk into the street, you will be issued a fine for such violation. After an additional 24 hours, if you have not complied with the ordinance, you will be issued an additional fine.
