Overview The Grants Coordinator shall be responsible for all duties related to the coordination and maintenance of grants received by and for the City of Lynn. The Grants Coordinator will report to the Comptroller, and provide support to various city departments who obtain grant funding on an ongoing basis. Currently, the City receives approximately fifty million dollars in this type of funding per fiscal year. The Grants Coordinator will be a conscientious, diligent, and highly organized professional who performs their duties with efficiency and discretion along with the ability to interact with a diverse group of stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

- To establish standard practices and procedures for receiving and processing grants.

- To assist in the preparation of the annual state, federal, and private grant reports to the appropriate agencies.

- Track all final applications and paperwork needed to complete the state, federal, or private grant requirements.

- Serve as the financial liaison between the City of Lynn grant writers and funding agencies on all projects of a joint community nature.

- Report all business activities related to grants using the MUNIS financial software system, MUNIS payroll software system, and other electronic performance reporting software programs.

- Supervise and evaluate clerical staff working on grant related duties. Perform any and all other duties requested by the Comptroller and or the CFO.
Knowledge, Skills and Requirements - Knowledge of state and federal grant guidelines and regulations.

- Ability to formulate goals and objectives to establish and maintain effective contacts with a variety of groups and organizations in and out of municipal government.

- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in both verbal and written form.

- Ability to work effectively under time constraints to meet deadlines.

- Ability to supervise, coordinate, establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, funding agencies, recipient entities, elected officials and the general public.

- Bachelor’s Degree and/or three years of experience in grant coordination or management; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Bilingual/bicultural candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
